Mount Victoria view of Wellington city and harbor, circa 1990. The Wellington Bus Terminus is in view. Today, a New World supermarket occupies that site. Further, the hills behind the city show pine trees growing on the slopes. In 2004, many of these trees toppled in a unprecedented summer storm and the remainder of many trees were felled except for the trees near the ridge line and further to the right.
