The Beehive, officially the Executive Wing of the New Zealand Parliament Buildings, is one of the country’s most recognisable landmarks. It houses the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, and senior government staff. Designed by British architect Sir Basil Spence, with detailed plans by the New Zealand Ministry of Works, its distinctive tapered cylindrical shape gives the building its nickname.
