Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo is a protest movement spearheaded by mothers whose children disappeared during Argentina’s military dictatorship between 1977 and 2006. The then illegal gathering was a protest with the focus on finding out what had happened to their adult children. The protests took place every Thursday in 1977 at the Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires which is located in front of the Casa Rosada presidential palace and continue to this day.
