Mount Climie is a peak located in the Rimutaka Range on the southern end of the North Island of New Zealand. It stands at an elevation of 860 meters (2,821 feet). It is a popular hiking destination, offering stunning views of the surrounding area.
The peak is named after William Climie, who was a farmer and early settler in the area. The first recorded climb of Mount Climie was in 1877 by a surveyor named James McKerrow.
Hiking up Mount Climie involves a challenging and steep ascent, but the effort is worth it as you get breathtaking panoramic views of the Wellington region, including the Hutt Valley, the Wairarapa Plains, as well as Wellington Harbour.
