The Fox Glacier Terminal Face refers to the end or the “toe” of the glacier. It is the point where the glacier’s ice flow ends, and it marks the furthest point that the glacier reaches before melting or breaking off into icebergs. It is an important feature of the glacier as it represents the dynamic equilibrium between the accumulation of snow and ice in the upper reaches of the glacier and the melting and ablation (loss of ice) at the lower end.
