People enjoying an evening swim in an Auckland beach with a view of Rangitoto Island. This volcano in the Hauraki Gulf is a famous landmark of the North Shore. It can be seen from all the beaches here with many houses perched on hills also getting a view. This volcano forms part of the Auckland Volcanic Field which contains approximately 50 volcanoes. Rangitoto is the youngest and largest volcano in this field.
