Topographical map of Australia showing highlands and lowlands
The Great Dividing Range is the main mountain chain in Australia. It is the fifth longest in the world. The southern end of this range supports a ski industry in the Snowy Mountains area with the highest peak on the mainland being Mount Kosciuszko. Due to eons of erosion, many interesting features exist through out Australia such as Uluru, Kata Tjuta, The Pinnacles, and Purnululu National Park.
