About

View our photos of Sydney in Australia and see for yourself how beautiful this city is. You will love the fact that while the city is a huge urban area, it also has great beaches, mountains, and large forests to explore.

Sydney is the oldest and biggest city in Australia. It is located on the east coast in the state of New South Wales. Built around one of the world's most spectacular harbors, the waterways weave their way deep into the city. The harbor is as much a hub of transport as the land. Ferries depart from one coast to another affording great views. Two famous landmarks stand out on the harbors edge, the beautiful Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge.

The harbor has many sandy coves, but Sydney is mostly known for its sweeping Pacific coastline. Beaches here are divided into Northshore and Southshore which are located either side of the harbor. Notable North Shore beaches include: Manly, Narrabeen, and Palm Beach while popular Southshore beaches include: Bondi, Bronte, and Coogee.

The Blue Mountains just outside the city is a large area of forested canyons deep within the Great Dividing Range. This range is the country's longest mountain chain. Here you will find spectacular cliffs, rainforest, and waterfalls with ever present wildlife. Species found here include kangaroo, wallabies, and koala. A very unique genus of mammal called monotremes exist here too which include the echidna and the most unusual of all animals – the platypus. The forests hosts a myriad of colorful birds including parrots. kookaburra, lyre birds, and rosellas.

Sydney is unlike most urban areas of the world because you will be taking photos of nature as much as you will be capturing urban landmarks.
