About The Himalayas

Our photos of the Himalayas in Northern India date were taken in 1990. This goes back to a time when tourism wasn’t popular in this area of India. Consequently, they capture a moment in time before tourism took off.

The Himalayas mountain range contain the tallest mountains on earth. The highest are located in Nepal and Pakistan. However, they the range crosses northern India in a number of states. These include: Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Arunachal Pradesh. Further south, a number of states include the Himalayan foothills and plains below. These are: Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Assam.
