Svalbard is an archipelago belonging to Norway. Known for its rugged and remote terrain and polar bears, it is a place like no other, The largest town here is Longyearbyen which lies 800 miles or 1300 kilometres from the North Pole. With over 2,000 permanent inhabitants, it takes the title as the Northernmost town in the world.
