The Pyramid of Khafre is the second largest and tallest pyramid on the Giza plateau in Egypt. It is the tomb of pharaoh Khafre (Chefren) who reigned from c. 2558 to 2532 BC. The Great Sphinx of Giza seen in the foreground is the oldest known monumental sculpture in all of Egypt and is thought to have been constructed by during the rule of pharaoh Khafre.
