Palms are a type of tree that belong to the family Arecaceae. They are known for their distinctive, feathery fronds and single, unbranched trunks. Palms are found in many different regions of the world, including tropical and subtropical areas, and even extend into southern temperate areas in New Zealand.
Palms are also important for their economic value, as many species are cultivated for their fruits, oils, and other products. Some of the most well-known palms include the coconut palm, the date palm, and the oil palm.
