Primate Cathedral in Bolivar Square is a Roman Catholic cathedral. It has been built a number of times since thatched huts occupied this area. The first cathedral was completed in 1565 but it later collapsed due to a faulty foundation. Reconstructed in 1572, the cathedral was levelled by an earthquake in 1785. Pictured is the construction of 1807 to 1823.
