The Kavanagh Building is a 1930s Art Deco skyscraper in Buenos Aires. The building was commissioned by a Corina Kavanagh, a wealthy woman who had no aristocratic lineage, but was engaged to a son from the Anchorena family, who were aristocracy. They disapproved of their engagement and in revenge Corina invested her entire fortune in this building which sits between a church and mansion owned by Anchorena family, for the sole purpose of obstructing the view between the two buildings. At the time of its construction, it was the tallest concrete structure in the world. Corine lived on the fourteenth floor in the only apartment in the building that spanned an entire floor.
