Esi Maka Faakinga is a huge stone that formed part of the Tongan king’s throne around seven hundred years ago. The stone served the purpose of protecting the king’s back so he only had to defend himself from front-side attacks. It is located next to a famous stone archway called the Trilithon on Tongatapu Island.
