Christ Church (Anglican) in Taita, Lower Hutt, is the oldest surviving church in the Wellington Region and one of the oldest in New Zealand. It was built in 1853 and is an iconic example of early colonial Gothic Revival architecture. The church was constructed using local timber, primarily tōtara, and remains largely unchanged from its original design.
