Paeroa is known for its historical significance and its association with the iconic New Zealand beverage called “L&P” (Lemon & Paeroa). L&P was created in Paeroa in 1907. It was originally made by mixing lemon juice with carbonated mineral water from a nearby spring. The beverage gained popularity and became a significant part of New Zealand’s culture.
