Orokawa Bay is a scenic reserve accessible from a short walk (40 minutes one way) from Waihi Beach. The beach is not considered safe for swimming due to the steepness of the seafloor, but native vegetation and Pohutukawa trees fringing the shoreline gives the beach a lovely natural look.
