The Emperor Gum Moth is an impressive butterfly native to Australia. They inhabit the greener coastal strips in all states of Australia. They have also been introduced to New Zealand. With a wingspan of some 12 – 15 centimetres, it has brown coloring with darker brown, red, orange, and white markings. They feed and lay eggs on eucalyptus leaves. As caterpillars, they are also striking in appearance and go through five different growth stages, each with different coloring.
