The male Cairns Birdwing butterfly in Northern Queensland is one of the most beautiful butterflies in all of Australia. With a huge wingspan and striking patterns and colors, it is easily recognizable. The upper side of the male’s wing is black with green streaks. The female is larger than the male and lacks the green coloration.
