They are located near the geographic center of the city and are a popular spot for hiking and sightseeing. The two peaks, named Eureka and Noe, rise to an elevation of about 922 feet (281 meters) and offer views of the city, the Bay, and the Pacific Ocean. They are also home to several communication towers and the Twin Peaks Tunnel, a transportation tunnel that runs beneath the peaks.
