The Israel Trail passes through the barren Negev desert where temperatures reach 38°C (100°F). The most spectacular part of the hike is the Carbolet Hike (Har Carbolet).
The steep climb takes you to the ridge of a crater which gives incredible panoramic views of the surrounding desert. Nahal Mador offers an easier path back down through a valley, but another more difficult option allows you to continue on the Israel Trail towards Ofran River from where you can make a descent.
