The Orinoco River Basin is a large river basin located in South America that is drained by the Orinoco River. It covers an area of around 622,000 square kilometers and spans across parts of Venezuela and Colombia. The Orinoco River, which is one of the longest and most voluminous rivers in South America, is the main water source for the basin and it flows for more than 2,000 kilometers before reaching the Atlantic Ocean. The basin is home to diverse ecosystems, including rainforests, savannas, and wetlands, as well as a wide range of plant and animal species.
