Lago Uruguay is a large freshwater lake located in South America, on the border between Argentina and Uruguay. The lake is approximately 175 km (109 mi) long and 65 km (40 mi) wide, with a maximum depth of around 35 meters (115 feet). It is connected to the Atlantic Ocean through the Uruguay River, which flows into the Río de la Plata estuary.
Lago Uruguay is an important natural resource for both Uruguay and Argentina, providing water for irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and fishing. The lake and its surrounding wetlands also support a rich diversity of plant and animal life, including many species of birds and fish. In addition, the lake is a popular destination for recreational activities like boating, fishing, and swimming.
