We have a growing collection of photos taken in the Taupo region. The region is located in the central part of New Zealand’s North Island. It is renowned for its natural landscapes, geothermal attractions, and outdoor recreational pastimes.

Lake Taupo is the largest lake in New Zealand and a central feature of the region. It offers opportunities for boating, fishing, swimming, and scenic cruises. The lake is known for its crystal-clear waters and beautiful surroundings. The lake is actually the crater of a super volcano.

Huka Falls is a powerful waterfall on the Waikato River that flows from Lake Taupo. The falls are known for its vibrant blue water and sheer force as it rushes through a narrow gorge.

The Taupo region is home to several geothermal attractions, including Wairakei Terraces and Craters of the Moon. Visitors can see hot springs, geysers, bubbling mud pools, and steam vents.

Tongariro National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage-listed park south of Lake Taupo region and is known for its three active volcanoes: Tongariro, Ngauruhoe, and Ruapehu. The volcanoes are surrounded by unique tussock plains and native forests.
