Castlepoint is a small coastal town located in the Wairarapa region of New Zealand’s North Island. It is situated on a narrow peninsula that juts out into the Pacific Ocean. It is known for its beautiful beach, rugged coastline, and iconic lighthouse.
The beach at Castlepoint is a popular spot for swimming, surfing, and fishing. A lighthouse, which was built in 1913, sits on top of a rocky promontory at the eastern end of the beach, and offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
In addition to its natural beauty, Castlepoint is also home to a small community of permanent residents, as well as a number of holiday homes and vacation rentals. Visitors to the town can enjoy a range of activities, including surfing, kayaking, and hiking around the coast, lagoon, and up to Castle Rock a large coastal rock that offers panoramic views.
