The Altare della Patria is a monument that commemorates Victor Emmanuel. He was the first king of the Italy as we know the country today. The monument was completed in 1925 and is the largest white marble monument in the world. At its base lies The Museum of Italian Unification. An elevator takes you to the top of the monument offering views of this historical area. The famous Piazza Venezia is located next door.
